„Forest Punk“.

Book „Lost Wheels – Atlas of Forgotten Cars“ by Dieter Klein – now published by teNeues
Created on April 21, 2020

The illustrated book „Lost Wheels – Atlas of Forgotten Cars“ is now available in stores. This illustrated book shows an adventurous photo journey across Europe to the remotest parts of the USA, because no way is too far or too daring to get to the „Lost Cars“ in forgotten places.
True individuals with morbid charm
When man leaves, nature reclaims its space. Forgotten and overgrown by nature’s greenery, these cars in their slumber seem like a snapshot of days gone by. They all have in common that they are true individuals, of unique beauty, with morbid charm. The nostalgic subjects of photo artist Dieter Klein are legends as well as outsiders: Porsche and Cadillac, VW Beetle and Citroën DS. In inconspicuous backyards, in old barns and dense forests, they beautifully show the charm of decay as well as the power of nature and inspire one to think up fantastic stories about the history of automobiles.

Visual language of abandoned cars as a passion
Dieter Klein is a freelance photographer. In 2003, he received the „Best Reportage“ award from Bild der Wissenschaft for his reportage on robots. His true passion, however, is the visual language of abandoned cars. With this, he won the prize for „Best Photography“ at both Discovery Days 2017 (Switzerland) and Festival El Mundo 2018 (Austria).
Dieter Klein regularly gives lectures and shows slide shows on „Lost Wheels“ and „Forest Punk“ respectively. Dieter Klein lives and works near Cologne.
A must-have for all lovers of Lost Places photography
Unique: Each model pictured is assigned by year of manufacture and brand. The first illustrated book on nostalgic automotive finds, covering large parts of Europe as well as the USA. This book is without plastic wrap.
